Industry Challenges in Aramid Fiber Dyeing

High-Temperature Stability Challenge

Aramid fibers have a tight crystalline structure that resists dye penetration. Dyeing requires temperatures above 130C with strict process control.

Traditional Carriers Have Drawbacks

The industry commonly uses benzyl alcohol and phenyl propanol (PPH) as dyeing carriers. These require large dosages, negatively impact sewage treatment plant sludge, and increase environmental costs.

Strict Fastness Requirements

Aramid fibers are used in protective clothing, firefighting suits, and safety ropes. Safety-critical applications requiring extremely high wash and rub fastness. Ring dyeing results in substandard fastness.
